Postdoctoral position - Institute of Molecular Genetics of Montpellier

Description : We are looking for an experienced and exceptionally motivated postdoctoral scientist to join our team “Genomic Organization and Epigenetic Control” at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of Montpellier (http://www.igmm.cnrs.fr/spip.php?rubrique31). The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to the project “Dynamics and higher-order chromatin organization in physiological and tumoral contexts", which is funded by the National Institute of Cancer (INCa). We seek to understand how the 3D chromatin organisation contributes to genomic functions. The study involves genome-wide analyses of regions involved in higher-order chromatin organization by high-throughput sequencing, Chromosome-Conformation-Capture (3C) assays and bioinformatic analyses (Key references: Guibert et al., Genome Research 22, 633-641; Court et al., Genome Biology 12 :R42; Court et al., Nucl. Acids Res. 39, 5893-5906). The position should open between September and December 2013 for a period of 2-years.

Qualification : The applicant should have a PhD degree in biology, a background in epigenetic and chromatin fields, and would benefit from experience in genome-wide approaches. Knowledge about bioinformatics is highly advantageous, but not absolutely required.

Salary : The salary will be according to the French salary scale for public employees, which is depending on research experience.

Application details : Please send a motivation letter, CV, publication list and reference letters to Dr. Thierry Forné (forne@igmm.cnrs.fr).
