IGMM’s Transgenesis and Associated Technologies (T&TA) facility is a functional continuum for the creation of mouse models and their phenotypic analysis. It qualifies a mouse A2 transgenic facility free of specific pathogenic organisms (EOPS) facility hosting 5,000 mice (65 strains) in 5 rooms (one for immuno-deficient mice)

Fields of expertise Creation of models by transgenesis and homologous recombination Phenotypical analysis Mouse quarantine facility Decontamination of mouse strains by transplantation of fertilized oocytes Cryoconservation of mouse strains by freezing ovaries and sperm Strain database linked to the Kia7 network Technical support for hosted projects and EOPS husbandry (free of specific pathogenic organisms)

The T&TA platform contributes its expertise in transgenesis and related technologies to the integrated network of Montpellier animal facilities and benefits in turn from other platforms (small animal imaging, immuno-deficient mice, A3 facility for infected animals).

Examples of specific services provided : Oocyte infection by retrovirus Conditional KO mice (Cre-Lox inducible) Transient KO by blastocyst injection of vectorized siRNAs Intra-thymic injection of cells or virus in neonate and adult Subcutaneous injection of organoids or encapsulated cells for cell therapy Partial hepatectomies and liver perfusion for hepatocyte culture Ovary grafts after ovariectomy Dissection of embryos at all stages Dissection of embryonic gonads to derive PGK cells culture Organ imaging and in situ hybridization
