A choreography of centrosomal mRNAs reveals a conserved localization mechanism involving active polysome transport

A recent paper by Safieddine et al. in Edouard Bertrand’s lab published in Nature Communications demonstrates the existence of a conserved family of eight centrosomal mRNAs. Interestingly, centrosomal targeting of these mRNAs is cell cycle dependant, requires the encoded nascent peptide, and involves a new mechanism of active polysome targeting.
