Abstract

Direct injection of monoclonal antibodies isn’t always the best treatment option, especially when battling autoimmune diseases or other conditions that require longterm therapy. Long-term sustained systemic delivery may be achieved through implanting antibody-producing cells encapsulated in a biocompatible material.
